主动是不靠外力促进的自动，能够按照自己的意图进行，从而达到有利于自己的局面。因此，谁掌握了主动，就可能掌握有利于自己的局面。谁处于被动，就始终不会得到这种局面。埃及已故总统萨达特说过你们要靠自己，不要期待什么人指导，主动性应该来自你自己。所以掌握主动权要依靠自己，调动自己的主观能动性，须克服惰性。萧伯纳说懒惰就像一把锁，锁住了知识的仓库，使你的智力变得匮乏。可见惰性的危害性不仅消耗自己的身体，更是消磨自己的意志。所以掌握主动，克服惰性是我们赢得胜利，走向光明的有效手段。

掌握主动是人的一种能力，这种能力不是天生的而是要靠后天培养的。培养人的主动意识，也就是培养人的积极性，杜绝人的消极性。人的积极性就是人的主动性，人的消极性就是人的惰性。人的惰性也不是天生的，也是后天生活习惯的养成。它是主观原因形成的，在行为上表现为对于既定目标迟迟不行动，寻找各种借口拖延时间，今日事明日毕，不珍惜时间，像一块生锈的铁板，任凭时间的腐蚀，长此以往，自己定下的理想、目标成为泡影。惰性的危害后果非常的严重，不仅消耗时间，甚至消耗人的生命。正因为人的惰性严重阻碍着我们生活，学习和工作，所以克服惰性将消极的心理转化为积极的心理，是我们走出惰性心理的一种有效的方法。如何克服惰性呢？首先，意志是克服惰性的一种力量。有了坚强的意志，也有了坚韧的毅力，更是有了坚强的信念。但树立信念需要从小事做起，给自己定的目标不要太高，以可以独立完成有限度，以提高自己完成目标的成就感。有了成就感，人就有了主动性，有了愉悦的心情。人也就有兴趣去完成这项任务。这样渐渐地转变人的习性，人的惰性在你不自觉的过程中得到转化。其次，勤是克服惰性的一种法宝，文学家说勤奋是打开文学殿堂之门的一把钥匙；科学家说勤奋能使人聪明；政治家说勤奋是实现理想的基石。无论人们对勤奋如何评价，勤奋总是催人奋进，提升人们的积极思想。
